March was a very busy and thoroughly enjoyable month for the

Tawe Guild , starting with some of our members spending a day demonstrating at Swansea Hobbycraft. Back at the Cross Community Centre, guild members were busy preparing for the spinning retreat, by dyeing wool tops, (for fractal spinning).

Guild Workshops - January and February 2016

It's still only February, but already the members of Tawe Guild have been able to take part in two excellent Saturday workshops.  January's workshop was on Creating Felt Landscapes, with Pat Johnson.  Then a couple of days ago we had a day on Spinning with Wool Tops, with Eirian Roberts (and the workshop included a session by Liz on making punis and using a blending board).  At both workshops, we all learnt lots of new skills (though most of us agreed we'd still got lots to learn!) and had loads of fun. Christmas lunch 2015

Had a lovely time at the Christmas lunch on Saturday, and it was great to see so many Guild members there. Here are a few photos. Sorry if some of them are not quite in focus!

Annual Exhibition 2015
The Guild's Annual Exhibition was on the Bank Holiday Weekend at the end of August, at Craig y Nos Country Park. The Chairperson's challenge this year was "Zodiac" which could be interpreted in any way - using whatever type of textile craft we liked - weaving, spinning, felt making, knitting, quilting etc. Here are a few pictures, of some of our zodiac items, and other exhibits.
